World Vision Canada

In all of their work around the world, World Vision's focus is on children. Whether it's building schools or health clinics through their child sponsorship program, lobbying governments to change policies that hurt the poor, or responding to a humanitarian crisis, the needs of children are front and centre. As you click through their site, you'll find updates on crisis spots and information on their work in Canada and overseas. You'll also find suggestions for how you can get involved—whether it's through sponsoring a child, writing to your M.P., or simply offering a prayer for the needs of our world. They invite you to join them as they work together to build a better future for the world's children.

Face The World Foundation

President & C.E.O. of Vancouver's Army & Navy Department Stores, Jacqui Cohen and a few close friends started Face The World in 1991 in order to give something back to the city she called home. The intention then, as it remains today, is to provide the 'hands of hope' to the less fortunate members of our community. Through the generosity of many, Face The World Foundation has raised and disbursed close to $5,000 000 to many worthwhile groups and organizations. Jim is a member of the Board of Directors of the foundation. Every year Jacqui hosts a black tie gala at her waterfront residence. This star studded evening brings together a very generous group of sponsors, volunteers, friends and patrons who open up their hearts to help Face The World Foundation continue to improve the lives of those in need.Their 2008 Gala raised $1.24 million dollars.
